General Counsel (m/w/d)

What you’ll do
  • Direct regular reporting to both managing directors of ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab (CEO and CFO);
  • Providing overall legal framework, analysis, assessment, and legal recommendations for ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab group - for all B2B and B2C projects developed by ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab (revision and drafting of contracts);
  • Responsibility for the risk management from the legal point of view – identification of potential risks and their mitigation on a regular basis;
  • Close cooperation with the compliance department of ŠKODA AUTO and responsibility for implementation of compliance requirements within ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab group;
  • Cooperation on protection of all resources and streams of intellectual property and business secret (e.g. NDAs with partners for all early-stage negotiations, assessment of the acquisition of intellectual property);
  • Providing the legal assessment, support, and recommendations on data protection and GDPR topics;
  • Providing legal advisory for foreign cooperation (in cooperation with selected suppliers for specific cases);
  • Managing corporate topics for ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab group (e.g. internal norms and their implementation);
  • Managing of external legal suppliers selected for support within specific cases;
  • Providing ongoing legal support for ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab group with implementing and revising internal rules of ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab and participating and developing the relationship towards ŠKODA AUTO/ VW AG departments;
  • Providing legal support in M&A processes and transactions.
What you’ll need
  • University degree in Law and expertise in Czech law
  • At least 5 years of proven working experience in a legal position in a larger corporation company or in an international technology mature start-up
  • Proven experience in the area of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) and Shared Economy is a must
  • Hands-on experience with IP (Intellectual Property) law and security protection of know-how in general (e.g. experience with trademarks and industrial design registrations on an international level)
  • Proven experience with the preparation of operational business risks and the ability to evaluate them in regards to the company´s business area – ICT
  • Knowledge and experience with GDPR and Risk Management (required hands-on experience, e.g. for individual marketing activities for projects, the ability of end-to-end analysis, including preparation and support for GDPR related platforms: such as website, mobile application, General Business Terms and Conditions, e-shop, CRM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the preparation and implementation of internal company regulations
  • Ability to work independently with good time and task management and to think analytically and critically
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to achieve cooperation, outstanding negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills
  • Friendly as well as professional and assertive manner
  • Experience/knowledge of project management methodologies would be a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Team Leadership - management of a small Legal Department (2)
  • Excellent written and spoken English (at least C1 – Advanced) and Czech (Native level); German would be nice to have
  • Driving licence B
