More than 120 exhibitors gave interactive presentations on visionary technological solutions for a wide range of issues, including mobility, e-commerce, healthcare, production and management models. ŠKODA AUTO’s innovation hub was a gold partner at this year’s expo.
ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab’s stands attracted many of the event’s 10,000 participants, including H.E. Daniel Meron, Ambassador of Israel to the Czech Republic, and Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřib, who enjoyed a ride on an electric scooter. Three ŠKODA AUTO board members also stopped by: Klaus-Dieter Schürmann, Bohdan Wojnar and Dieter Seemann.
ŠKODA AUTO’s ultra-yellow VISION iV concept car was also on prominent display at the stand. The spacious four-door crossover coupé provided a stunning look at the Czech car manufacturer’s dynamic eMobility plans. With its sleek design, all-wheel drive and two electric motors, the VISION iV will take cruising the roads to a whole new level.
ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab took the opportunity to introduce six of its mobility solutions to a wider public audience as well as trade experts. BeRider, the recently launched e-scooter sharing service makes getting around the city easier and safer. Fitted with LED headlights as well as front and rear brake discs, these zero-emission electric scooters are powered by two lithium-ion batteries that can accelerate to 66 km/h and have a range of 70 km. Several scooters were ready for test drives in the outside area and were in constant use by excited visitors. The BeRider stand was right next to ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab’s two carsharing services — Uniqway and HoppyGo.
Another project that attracted a lot of attention was Citymove, which launched its full integration of parking payments on the first day of the event (read more about it here). Citymove calculates the best route for traveling around the city and suggests a suitable mode of transport. For its launch in Prague, it is consolidating mobility services offered by Prague’s transport association (DPP) — metro, bus and tram — as well as e-bike sharing and ride hailing. All of the services can be booked directly through the app. The new Citymove app also promises easy and efficient parking in Prague’s city center. Drivers can use it to find parking spaces and zones, as well as pay their parking fees in just one click.
Cosmo allows online shoppers to have their parcels delivered directly to their parked car. As for the delivery address, only the car’s location and license plate are required. ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab developed this delivery service in collaboration with two leading Czech online retailers, Alza.cz and Rohlik.cz, and with the Dodo delivery company.
Future Port Prague 2019 was a great success for ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab, whose engineers are already brainstorming ideas to present at next year’s installment.
