You find a parking space, select the zone you're parked in on the app, and pay for parking via your phone. We dare say we're already used to this process in Prague, but ŠKODA has managed to make it even easier. In Switzerland, ŠKODA has piloted a Pay-to-Park app that allows you to select and pay for parking directly on the car's infotainment system without having to take out your mobile phone. And also with this service, you won't have to pay more than the actual time you've parked in the zone. After Switzerland, ŠKODA has already launched the app in Germany, Finland and Belgium, for example, and other countries, including the Czech Republic, will follow suit.
How exactly does the app work? What was needed for its development? And how did the pilot in Switzerland turn out? We asked Tomas Drazil from ŠKODA AUTO Digilab, who was responsible for the development of the app and Thushan Bala who is Marketing Coordinator at ŠKODA – AMAG Group.
