The application relies on its database of sound patterns. The service technician uploads the sound of the car to a mobile phone or tablet and the AI-based app compares the recording to the sound pattern database and detects any deviations. This process can quickly discover any potential servicing requirements for the car.

This fast identification process increases efficiency in servicing and maintenance of a car and reduces the time the car needs to spend in the workshop, leading to higher customer satisfaction. Since June 2019, the smartphone app has been running on a trial basis in 16 countries, including Germany, Russia, Austria and France. A total of 367 ŠKODA AUTO dealers are participating in the pilot project.
